Please note that appointment times are only approximate, as delays may occur when emergencies arise or practitioners need to give extra time to very sick patients. At the time of making an appointment, please let the Receptionist know if you need a longer appointment. This helps reduce waiting time for others. If you wish to speak to the doctor by phone please let the receptionist know if your call is urgent. If not your doctor may choose to call you back at a later time.

Emergencies will be seen at any time without an appointment. It would be helpful if you could phone our medical centre in Penshurst before you arrive to let us know you are coming. This enables our staff to arrange some time for the doctor to see you. If your emergency is of a life threatening nature, please call 000 immediately.
Ashby Medical Centre subscribes to an After Hours Locum Service. Please phone 8724 6300 if you require an afterhours visit. Phoning the practice after hours will provide this information to you. If you prefer you may visit the St George After Hours Service at St George Private Hospital which is run by GPs. They are contactable by phone on 9553 0795 and are open Monday to Friday 7pm to 10pm, Saturday and public holidays 1pm to 9 pm and Sunday 9am to 9pm.
Ashby Medical Centre is an authorised Yellow Fever Vaccine Centre.
Travel vaccine consults are privately billed and there is private cost for the vaccinations themselves - you can discuss the cost with our reception staff when booking your consult.
We can provide up to date travel vaccine information and stock most travel vaccines.
Please attend as far ahead of your departure date as possible, as often some time is required if a schedule involving multiple vaccines is needed. Please phone to make an appointment.
We are a mixed billing practice. This applies to both our face to face consults and our telehealth consults.
Under Medicare Plus, patients who hold a current Pension or Health Care Card or Veteran Affairs Card and children under 16 are eligible to be bulk billed.
Those who don't meet the above criteria are privately billed:
Level B Consult ( standard) = $80 ( medicare rebate of $41.20)
Level C Consult ( long) = $120 (medicare rebate of $79.70)
Telehealh Consult = $70 ( medicare rebate of $41.20)
